Roatan, the largest of the three Bay Islands measures almost 40 miles in length and up to 4 miles across at the widest point. The island is surrounded by the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world, Roatan boasts world class diving and excellent fishing. The beaches are un crowded and the water is emerald or ice blue. The mountainous backbone reaches over 700 ft and is covered with jungle foliage and fruit trees.

Roatan's wetter months are between October and December.

The Bay islands are part of the second largest reef system in the world behind Australia's great barrier reef. The SCUBA diving in the Bay Islands is abundant, there are more than 100 diving locations on Roatan alone. Most of the operators are located out of the West End and West Bay, however there are many others throughout the island.

Some activities on Roatan: Diving and snorkeling, waterskiing and wakeboarding, sea kayaking, fishing, water trampoline, mountain biking, hiking, windsurfing, swimming.

While in Honduras there is a lot of opportunity for adventure travel. La Ceiba is a short plane or boat ride is the unofficial Party capital of Honduras, It even hosts its own week long Carnival. The beautiful Pico Bonito National Park hovers above the city. Out of these Mountains flow many rivers, one of which is the Cangreal. Just up this river basin you will find whitewater rafting and kayaking ranging from class V down to II with several different access points this river is adventure to anyone willing to try. Out of the Jungle River Lodge one can do Canopy Tours into the Park, starting with a Zip-line over the river.

The Ancient Mayan ruins in Copan are a adventure of the mind. While in Copan there are tours of Coffee plantations, Horseback riding and Mountain biking. If you are traveling on to Guatemala, the border is right there.
